From 2006-2015, she worked at School Library Journal (SLJ)<\/em> and Library Journal (LJ)<\/em>, eventually heading LJ\u2019s <\/em>review section. As well as being a cofounder of firstCLUE, she reviews and edits for Booklist<\/em> and LJ<\/em> and is Information Literacy Content and Strategy Manager at Infobase, developing materials that help students and faculty use libraries and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Etta, who is from Ireland, lives in New York City. Her daughter, Priya, attends college in Florida, while her son, Henry, is a high-schooler who lives with Etta and their cats Neko, Yuki, and Mei. As well as devouring two mystery novels a week, Etta enjoys biographies and popular science books on audio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Brian Kenney<\/strong>, firstCLUE co-founder, is a librarian and editor, having worked for a decade at the Brooklyn Public Library and another decade as an editor at LJ<\/em>, editor in chief of SLJ<\/em>, and editorial director of LJ<\/em>, SLJ<\/em>, and Publishers Weekly<\/em> (PW<\/em>). Today he\u2019s the director of the White Plains Public Library (NY), where he hosts a monthly crime-fiction discussion group, Book \u2018Em. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Brian lives in Jackson Heights, Queens with his husband, Ozzie and multiple e-reading devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dodie Ownes <\/strong>joined us in 2025 as a reviewer, and now adds Marketing Director to her title. <\/p>\n\n\n\n With an MALS from U of Chicago’s now defunct Graduate Library School, she has worked in a variety of library-related positions in the past, including advertising sales, webcast production, and product development. And libraries! <\/p>\n\n\n\n Currently, she is an adult services librarian at the Central branch of Denver Public Library. Dodie lives in beautiful Golden Colorado, “Where the West Lives.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Contributing Editor Jeff Ayers<\/strong> has been a book reviewer for The Associated Press, Library Journal,<\/em> and Booklist<\/em>. He co-hosted a podcast for Suspense Magazine<\/em> and has interviewed many authors, including Dan Brown, Michael Connelly, and Harlan Coben. Contributing editor Wilda (Willy) Williams<\/strong>, who went to library school on her wise grandmother\u2019s After working with us as an intern for about a year, Charlotte Del Vecchio<\/strong> has joined us as our Social and Communications Director. Charlotte is a recent graduate of Marist University with a BA in English Literature. She is interested in many aspects of publication and has expressed this interest through her studies and experiences. Along with editing for her University\u2019s student-run literary and arts magazine, she has interned at Hudson Valley Magazine and The Hudson River Valley Institute.\u00a0She also leads a Thrills & Chills Book Club out of Mermaid Books in Milford, CT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Charlotte lives in New Haven, Connecticut where she enjoys reading mysteries and listening to comedy podcasts.<\/p>\n\n\n Chris Kahn<\/strong> worked with Brian, Etta, Dodie and Willy during the 15-plus years he spent as the Western Advertising Director (at various times) for LJ<\/em>, SLJ<\/em> and PW<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He left PW<\/em> to join NuvoMedia<\/strong> as the publishing liaison for the Rocket eBook<\/strong>, the first commercially viable ebook device and content distribution system\u2014the direct predecessor to the Kindle. He returned to the magazines and worked for all three magazines until their sale by Reed-Elsevier.
