{"id":5149,"date":"2026-04-02T01:00:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T01:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/firstcluereviews.com\/?p=5149"},"modified":"2026-04-02T18:14:53","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T18:14:53","slug":"murder-on-charity-lane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/firstcluereviews.com\/?p=5149","title":{"rendered":"Murder on Charity Lane"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>This series is wonderfully reminiscent of Armistead Maupin\u2019s series Tales of the City, Richard Osman\u2019s The Thursday Murder Club series, and<em> Only Murders in the Building<\/em>\u2014all of which have a wonderful sense of community, an abundance of love, and a good dollop of eccentricity.<\/strong> It\u2019s six months or so after <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/firstcluereviews.com\/?p=4046\">the first murder solved<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span> by Mrs. B., the Marigold Cottages\u2019 eccentric proprietor, who follows the lives of her tenants by keeping the cottages very quiet\u2014too quiet, she is beginning to think. So she invites a friend, Elsa, to occupy one of the empty homes well located in Santa Barbara. But when a tragic death occurs, and several of the residents have reason to believe that Elsa is the protagonist, Mrs. B. has no choice except to call together the members of the Murder Collective to figure out who is responsible, and why. Then there is another death, with Elsa again the suspect.
